Built in 1987 by then Miami Dolphins owner Joe Robbie, South Florida’s Sun Life Stadium has a rich history, having hosted five Super Bowls, a Pro Bowl, four BCS Championship Games, two World Series, the World Baseball Classic and countless international soccer matches. It has also been a popular performance venue for some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Paul McCartney, U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Elton John, Billy Joel, Maroon 5, Pink Floyd, Gloria Estefan, Prince, The Who, Van Halen and The Three Tenors. These events have generated enormous economic dividends for our community, drawing millions of visitors to South Florida from around the world. By making our vision for Sun Life Stadium a reality, South Florida can continue its reign as the “big event capital of the Americas” for years to come.
